As you can see, avoiding magnetism is usually a good idea when it comes to mechanical watches.
Ordinary mechanical watches are somewhat diamagnetic, but not many. They can resist up to 90 Gauss. Traditional anti-magnetic watches contain an iron shield around the movement to protect against magnetic fields. These protections are up to about 1000 Gauss, which is quite good, but does prevent a watch that offers a sporty view. It is unclear when or how most people will be exposed to stronger magnetic fields unless they work on MRI machines or some type of aerospace or industrial capability, but it can happen. Later in 2014, Omega will release several other models, including diamagnetic technology in 15,000 Gauss and other new timepieces. Although my feeling is that they will be a little more expensive than the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 15,000 Gauss – so this may be one of the reasons for choosing this. This is also a good thing for those who appreciate the story and want to get a similar product. If you have a hint of yellow in your life, this is also a good choice.
